  2. Photographs must have been taken by the entrant, but the film or digital image can be processed and the print can be made by another party or commercial source. Entries are not restricted to any one film size.
  3. An entrant may submit prints from only one school or organization.
  4. Print entries shall be no smaller than 5” X 7” and no larger than 9” X 12” in size, either with or without borders, and be submitted unmounted. Prints MUST be accompanied with an entry form.
  5. No fees will be charged to participate in this program. However, if you require the return of your entries by mail, postage for such a return must be sent. No entries will be returned by mail without adequate postage included with each submission. Non-returned entries will be destroyed. Postage is not needed if prints are picked up at the conclusion of the PSA International Conference.
  6. The deadline for entries is April 1, 2014. Please fill out all parts of the entry form in block letters so that contact can be made with sponsors by e-mail and with the winners during the summer. One form is required for each entry. Print clearly to avoid incorrect listings. Illegible entry forms will not be corrected. Be sure the school, town, and state are included.

PSA Youth Photography Showcase: Digital Guidelines

  1. All images will be checked for the proper dimensions and file type as they are received. The maximum allowable horizontal dimension (width) is 1024 pixels; the maximum allowable vertical dimension (height) is 768 pixels. The image files must be in “jpeg” format. Any file that does not meet these criteria will be rejected.
  2. It is not necessary to use a specific filename format for the images as the software will create the necessary names automatically.
  3. The following characters should not be included in the image filename: semi-colon (;), colon (:) or equal sign (=). They will cause a system failure message (Forbidden).
  4. The following characters will be eliminated by the software from the image titles: period (.), comma (,), exclamation point (!), left parenthesis ((), right parenthesis ()), dollar sign ($), question mark (?), underscore (_), back slash (\), forward slash (/), semi-colon (;), colon (:) and equal sign (=). They may cause the software to incorrectly processed the image.
  5. For optimum projection, it is recommended that the images be saved in the “sRGB” color space.
